Oil pump (in situ)

To remove


1. Remove the timing belt. See Timing belt (in situ) .

2. Use a lifting yoke to raise the engine approx. 40 mm.

3. Raise the car.

4. Remove Oil sump (in situ) .

5. Remove the oil suction pipe.


6. Remove the belt pulley using 32 025 006 Crankshaft holder (a) together with 83 95 360 Holding tool, crankshaft pulley (b).

Note

The bolt is left-threaded.



7. Remove the oil pump seal ring.

Note

Prise loose the seal ring from the oil pump using a suitable tool. Do not damage the sealing surfaces.


8. Remove the oil pump. Remove the stud from 32 025 009 Crankshaft fixing tool .



To fit


1. Clean the treads and sealing surfaces.

2. Fit the oil pump using a new gasket. Use Thread locking adhesive, Loctite 242 for M6x20 bolts. Fit the stud of 32 025 009 Crankshaft fixing tool .

3. Fit the oil pump seal using 32 025 014 Fitting tool, oil pump seal .

Note

Moisten the gasket's seal lip with a little 90 167 353 Silicone paste (white).


4. Fit the belt pulley using 32 025 006 Crankshaft holder (a) together with 83 95 360 Holding tool, crankshaft pulley (b).

Tightening torque, bolt: 340 Nm (245 lbf ft)

Note

The bolt is left-threaded.


5. Remove 32 025 006 Crankshaft holder and 83 95 360 Holding tool, crankshaft pulley .

6. Fit the oil intake pipe.


7. Fit Oil sump (in situ) .

8. Lower the car to the floor.

9. Fit the timing belt. See Timing belt (in situ) .
