Engine RPM

RPM

Current engine speed measured by the crankshaft position sensor.

Battery Voltage

Displays the battery voltage read by the control module.

Coolant Temperature

The voltage across the NTC resistor is converted to a temperature. This value must agree with the temperature by the sensor.

Coolant Temperature Sensor

Displays the voltage measured across the NTC resistor. One sensor pin is grounded internally in the control module and the other is fed with 5V via a control module integrated in the resistor.

The voltage measured across the resistor drops with an increase in temperature.

Requested Idle RPM

RPM

Displays the idling speed requested by the control module. This value depends on the coolant temperature and possible adjustments made under the "Adjustments" menu.

Wheel Speed LF

km/h

Wheel speed is sent over the bus by the TCS/ESP. It is used by functions such as cruise control and idle speed control.

Accelerator Pedal

Displays the pedal position in %. Calculated from the voltage from pedal position sensor 1 and the adapted value for released pedal.

Pedal Position Sensor 1

The voltage from pedal position sensor 1.

Pedal Position Sensor 2

The voltage from pedal position sensor 2.

Displays whether the pedal is relseased - in idling position.

Throttle Actuator

The actuator is controlled by a PWM signal. A low value means that the throttle is open.

The swirl throttle closes one intake port per cylinder to increase the swirl of air at low engine speeds.

Displays the PWM ratio supplied to the solenoid. The control module adjusts the PWM ratio until the current intake pressure agrees with the requested pressure.

Displays the frequency from the mass air flow sensor. The value is converted to a mass air flow.

Air Mass Flow

The mass air flow sensor frequency is converted to a mass flow. This value is used to determine the smoke limit, which is the maximum permitted fuel mass that is injected.

Requested Manifold Absolute Pressure

Displays the requested charge air pressure. Should be the same as the actual pressure when the engine is loaded.

The value when the engine is stationary should agree with the system's other pressure sensor, approx. 101 kPa at sea level and normal barometric pressure (1013 mbar).

Intake Air Temperature Sensor

Exhaust Particle Filter Pressure Sensor

Displays the sensor voltage. The value is converted to a pressure.

Exhaust Particle Filter Pressure

Displays the pressure difference between the particle filter's inlet and outlet. This value is used to determine whether the filter is clogged.

Pressures greater than 50 kPa are abnormal and generate a DTC.

Exhaust Particle Filter Soot Density

%

Displays how much soot the particle filter contains as a % of normal capacity. The value depends on the driving conditions. The pressure sensor value is not used in this calculation.

Regeneration is performed as soon as there is a likelyhood that the value exceeds 90%. A value greater that 100% is not incorrect. It simply means that the driving conditions have not be suitable for regeneration yet.

The DTC generated for overflow depends on the counter pressure and not this value. It is normal that the value does not return completely to zero following regeneration.

Exhaust Temperature 1

The voltage across the temperature sensor converted to a temperature. The sensor is located after the primary catalytic converter. The value is used to determine when particle filter regeneration can be performed.

Approximate temperature - driving: max. 750°C - regeneration: max. 800°C.

Exhaust Temperature Sensor 1

Voltage across the temperature sensor. The sensor is located after the primary catalytic converter.

Exhaust Temperature 2

The voltage across the temperature sensor converted to a temperature. The sensor is located after the main catalytic converter, which is enclosed in the same casing as the particle filter. The value is used to control the temperature during particle filter regeneration.

Approximate temperature - driving: max. 700°C. Target temperature for regeneration - approx. 630°C, max. 750°C.

Exhaust Temperature Sensor 2

Voltage across the temperature sensor. The sensor is located after the primary catalytic converter.

Displays whether the control module has requested the glow function.

Glow feedback

Displays the status of power amplifier feedback to the control module. The value is used to generate fault codes in case of malfunction.

Brake Light Switch

+30 feeds the brake light switch. Normally open. When the brake pedal is depressed, +30 is fed to the brake lights via the REC and directly to the engine management system.

Clutch Pedal Switch

ON/OFF

+15 feeds the clutch pedal switch. Normally closed to the engine management system. When the clutch pedal is depressed, the power supply is interrupted.

Brake Pedal Switch

+15 feeds the brake pedal switch. Normally closed to the engine management system. When the brake pedal is depressed, the power supply is interrupted.

A/C In

A/C request is sent on the bus by the ACC.

A/C Out

The A/C relay is controlled by the engine management system. Displays processor control of the transistor that grounds the relay circuit.

Oil Level Switch
