The SID control module calculates an appropriate value for the illumination using the rheostat value and the value of the cabin light intensity which comes from the light sensor.
The display is illuminated by LEDs.
In the dark, the rheostat level controls the lighting. When the light levels in the cabin increase, the value for the light intensity in the cabin takes over. This ensures that all displays are easy to read.
The SID control module sends the calculated value out on the bus as DISPLAY LIGHTING LEVEL, unit %.
