The ESP OFF lamp is on when the fault is present but goes out when the fault disappears.Conditions
This DTC can be generated if the car gets into a situation during ABS or ESP regulation that is very rare and difficult to compensate, such as if during regulation the car slides sideways while the wheels are stationary. The warning lamp will come on and a diagnostic trouble code be generated. The lamp will however go out when these abnormal conditions cease. If something happens during ESP regulation, the lamp will not extinguish before the ignition has been switched off and on again.The diagnostic trouble code can also be generated by a brief voltage drop to the steering wheel angle sensor or yaw rate sensor.
