Check the exterior of the front seats. These must be undamaged and have no signs of perforation. Seat covers or other equipment that could impair the function of the side airbags must not be fitted.

Check that the surface of the dashboard covering the passenger airbag is not punctured. Furthermore, equipment must not be mounted on the dashboard.

Check that the steering wheel pad is not punctured. Furthermore, equipment must not be mounted on the pad.

| 4. |
Turn the ignition ON. Check that the airbag lamp is lit for 3 to 4 seconds and then goes out.

| 5. |
If the lamp does not extinguish, read off the diagnostic trouble codes and rectify the fault. Refer to the fault diagnosis section in WIS.
