The airbags use the windscreen for support when inflated. It is therefore essential that the windscreen is correctly fitted, both with regard to the car's function and for the safety of the occupants.
All Saab 9-5 are equipped with green-tinted, heat absorbing glass.
The heat absorbing glass contains ferric oxide that absorbs and stores the heat. On the road, the head wind will cool the glass and dissipate the stored heat. On cars equipped with ACC, the heat absorbing glass will give a lower fan speed.
The only glass adhesive that has been crash tested and approved for after-sales use is Betaseal X 2500. Betaseal X 2500 only must be used in order for Saab Automobile AB to accept responsibility for and guarantee a maintained crash safety after a change of windscreen or rear window.
