Damage to the control unit can occur if the metal cover comes into contact with battery voltage. Ensure that the control unit's metal cover does NOT come into contact with battery voltage when servicing the control unit, using quick charge cables or charging the vehicle's battery.

Release the engine control module electrical connector.

Procedures

|
Use a screwdriver to depress the module and cover retainer.
|
|
•
|
Lift the module and cover upwards to remove.
|
|

Procedures

|
Lift the engine control module retainer located on the Insulating cover.
|
|
•
|
Slide the engine control module outwards to remove.
|
