Preliminary Procedure

1. Remove the differential carrier assembly. Refer to Differential Carrier Assembly Replacement .

2. Drain the rear axle from oil. Refer to Differential Oil Replacement

Differential Seal


Procedures

1. Tighten the puller bolts properly before removing the seal. Use DT-49231 puller.

2. Use DT-869 sleeve 4 to tap the seal in place.

3. Fill the rear axle to the proper level with new fluid. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers .
