Intake Manifold Cleaning and Inspection (1.6L LLU)

1.

Clean the intake manifold mating surfaces.
|
|
2.
|
Inspect the intake manifold (1) for damage.
|
|
3.
|
Inspect the intake manifold (1) for cracks near metallic inserts.
|
|
4.
|
Inspect the crankcase ventilation passages in the intake manifold face for blockage.
|
|

|
Warning
|
|
Wear safety glasses in order to avoid eye damage.
|
|
|
|
|
|
Clean the crankcase ventilation passages with compressed air if necessary. Use a maximum of 172 kPa (25 psi) of air pressure.
|
|
6.
|
Clean the throttle body sealing surface.
|
|
7.
|
Clean the intake manifold to cylinder head sealing surface.
|
|
8.
|
Replace the intake manifold (1) as necessary.
|
