Oil Pan Cleaning and Inspection

Clean the oil pan mating surface.
|
|
2.
|
Clean the oil pan (1). Remove all the sludge and the oil deposits.
|
|
3.
|
Inspect the threads for the engine oil drain plug.
|
|
4.
|
Inspect the oil pan for cracking near the pan rail and the transmission mounting points.
|
|
5.
|
Inspect the oil pan for cracking resulting from impact or flying road debris.
|
|
6.
|
|
Note
|
|
The oil pan baffle and pickup screen are not removable from the oil pan.
|
Inspect the oil pan baffle and pickup screen.
|
|
7.
|
Repair or replace the oil pan as necessary.
|
