Circuit/System Verification

Ignition ON, observe the scan tool Vehicle Direction Camera Switch Status parameter while pressing and releasing the lane departure warning switch. The parameter should change between Open and Closed.

Circuit/System Testing

1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the S48E Multifunction Switch - Center Console.

2. Test for less than 10 Ω between the S48E Multifunction Switch - Center Console ground circuit terminal 2 and ground.

3. If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.

4. Ignition ON, verify the scan tool Vehicle Direction Camera Switch Status parameter is Open.

5. If not the specified value, test the signal circuit terminal 7 for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K74 Vehicle Direction Camera Control Module.

6. Install a 3 A fused jumper wire between the signal circuit terminal 7 and ground circuit terminal 2. Verify the scan tool Vehicle Direction Camera Switch Status parameter is Closed.

7. If not the specified value, test the signal circuit terminal for a short to battery or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K74 Vehicle Direction Camera Control Module.

8. If all circuits test normal, replace the S48E Multifunction Switch - Center Console.
