Exhaust manifold front (B258i)

1.

Disconnect the oxygen sensors' cables, undo the cable clamps and the clip and lift up the car.
|
|
2.
|
Undo the catalytic converter joint, unscrew the nuts between the exhaust manifolds and the front exhaust pipe and lower the pipe.

Important
|
|
There are seals between the exhaust manifolds and the front exhaust pipe.
|
|
|
|
|
3.
|
Lower the car and remove the oil dipstick.
|
|
4.
|
Remove the heat shield and undo the nuts on the exhaust manifold.
|
|
5.
|
Remove the exhaust manifold with its seal.
|
|
1.
|
Clean the surfaces and fit the exhaust manifold with a new seal.
Tightening torque 20 Nm (15 lbf ft).
|
|
2.
|
Refit the heat shield and refit the oil dipstick. Lift up the car.
|
|
3.
|
Feed in the front exhaust pipe and bolt it to the exhaust manifold. Use new gaskets.
Turning torque 40 Nm (30 lbf ft).
|
|
4.
|
Bolt together the joint under the car.
Tightening torque 20 Nm (15 lbf ft).
Lower the car to the floor.

5.
|
Reconnect the oxygen sensors' cables and fit the cable clamps and the clips.
|
