Battery cover, lower section, B284

| 2. |
Remove the catalytic converter heat shields:
|
|
| • |
Turn up the expansion tank.
|
| • |
Remove the heat shields (A).
|
| 3. |
Remove the gear cables:
|
|
| • |
Remove the gear cables from the shift arms (A).
|
| • |
Press the locking sleeves backward and remove the cable casings from the bracket (B).
|
| 4. |
Blow clean around the selector unit
|
|
| 5. |
Remove the selector unit:
|
|
| • |
The selector unit must be in neutral position to enable removal.
|
| • |
Remove the bolts (C) and lift up the selector unit.
|
| To fit |
| 1. |
Fit the sealing ring (A) onto the selector unit.
|
|
| • |
The selector unit must be in neutral position to enable fitting.
|
| 2. |
Fit the selector unit on the gearbox (C).
Tightening torque 25 Nm (18 lbf ft)
|
|
| 3. |
Connect the gear cables:
|
|
| • |
Press the locking sleeves backward and fit the cable casings to the bracket (B).
|
| • |
Fit the gear cables to the shift arms (A).
|
| 4. |
Fit the catalytic converter heat shields:
|
|
| • |
Fit the heat shields (A).
|
| • |
Fit the expansion tank
|
| 5. |
Adjust the gear positions in accordance with

|
|
