Headlining, 5D

To remove

Warning

Take care not to damage or loosen the energy absorbers. Damaged or loose energy absorbers must not be refitted. If the occasion should arise, the entire headlining must be changed. Damaged energy absorbers may impair head protection in case of a collision.


Note

Pay attention to cleanliness so that the headlining does not become dirty.



1. Remove the sun visor .

2. Remove the lamp lens using 82 93 474 Removal tool .


3. Remove the front cover using 82 93 474 Removal tool .

4. Remove the screws on the middle cover.


5. Detach the rear-view mirror and, where appropriate, unplug its connector.


6. Remove the rain sensor cover.


7. Remove the rain sensor connector.

8. Remove the A-pillar trim .

9. Detach the connector on the right-hand A-pillar.


10. Remove the wiring harness clips from the right-hand A-pillar.

11. Remove the B-pillar trim

12. Remove Courtesy handle . Remove the covers on the driver's side.

13. Remove C-pillar trim, 5D .

14. Remove left-hand Rear side trim, 5D

15. Remove the connectors to REC, body and rear wiring harness.


16. Cut off the wiring harness cable tie.

17. Undo the wiring harness clips.

18. Remove the covers on the load grille mountings.

19. Remove the load grille mountings.


20. Remove the headlining rear clips by turning them 90°.

21. Cars with sunroof : Remove the trim moulding catch by pulling it forward. Then remove the trim moulding.

22. Undo the headlining front clips by pressing them in.


23. Carefully undo the headlining.


To fit

Warning

Take care not to damage or loosen the energy absorbers. Damaged or loose energy absorbers must not be refitted. If the occasion should arise, the entire headlining must be changed. Damaged energy absorbers may impair head protection in case of a collision.



1. Fit the headlining by carefully pressing it up to fasten the clips. Make sure the headlining is fitted behind the trim on the right-hand side.


2. Fit the headlining clips. The clips are of different lengths. Fit the long ones at the front.


3. Certain cars : Fit courtesy handle . Fit the covers on the driver's side.

4. Fit the mountings and covers for the load grille.

5. Cars with sunroof: Put in place the sunroof trim moulding. Carefully press the trim moulding on the clips around the aperture for the sunroof. Make sure the fabric is taut and located correctly.

Fit the trim moulding catch in the correct position.


6. Check that the headlining is located correctly against all the seals.

7. Fit the sun visor.

8. Fit the connector for the rain sensor.


9. Fit the rain sensor cover.

10. Fit the interior rear view mirror. Fit the connector where appropriate.


11. Fit the middle part of the roof lighting cover. Fit the screws.


12. Fit the forward section of the roof light cover.


13. Fit the rear section of the roof light cover.

14. Fit the sun visor connector at the A-pillar on the passenger side.


15. Fit the A-pillar trim .

16. Fit the B-pillar trim .

17. Plug in the connectors to REC, body and rear wiring harness.


18. Fit the wiring harness cable ties.

19. Fit Rear side trim, 5D .

20. Fit Side bolster, 5D

21. Fit C-pillar trim, 5D .

22. Check that the interior lighting is in working order.
