Open the tailgate
|

| 2. |
Remove the upper protective shell. See
Removing the upper rear protective shell 5D.

Remove the screws in the wheel housing, 2 on each side.
|
|
| 4. |
Lift out the storage compartments and their covers on both sides.
|
|
| 5. |
Remove the insulation pads. The old ones must be discarded and replaced by new ones.
|

| 6. |
Remove the nuts holding the bumper and the through bolts with nuts on the outside.
Come cars have press nuts and in such cases it is sufficient to just remove the bolts.

| 7. |
Remove the towbar connector, the cable tie and the bolt holding the towbar to the body.
|
|
| 8. |
Together with an assistant, pull the bumper from the edge of the wheel housing and the clips. Lift the bumper out backwards.
For cars equipped with Saab Parking Assistance (SPA):
Remove the connector.

| 1. |
Place the towbar cable connection in the bumper cavity.
|
|
| 2. |
Place the bumper in position and press it over the edge of the wheel housing. Make sure that the clips sit correctly.
For cars equipped with Saab Parking Assistance (SPA): Attach the connector.

| 3. |
Fit the nuts and bolts holding the bumper in place.
|
|
| 4. |
Fit the screws in the edge of the wheel housing.
|
|
| 5. |
Attach the towbar connector. Fit the bolts and cable tie holding the towbar on the body.
|
|
| 6. |
Fit the new insulation pads.
|
|
| 7. |
Fit the storage compartments and their covers.
|
|
| 8. |
Fit the upper protective shell. See

| 9. |
Close the tailgate and check the fit of the bumper against the tailgate.
