Changing the gear lever bearing arrangement (ball socket and ball socket ring)

Remove the gear lever as described in
.

2.

Remove the spring which tensions the ball socket ring and detach the ball socket ring by turning it anti-clockwise (bayonet fitting). Remove the ball socket.

In order to remove the ball socket ring from the gear lever, the gear lever knob must be removed, see

Lubricate the bearing with Gleitmo 750, part no. 30 07 309.
|
|
2.
|
Insert the gear lever in the ball socket.
|
|
3.
|
Hook the spring onto the ball socket ring. Insert the ring in the ball socket and make sure that the spring is under the ring's lugs. Then tension and secure the spring in the hook on the ball socket.
