| Removal Procedure |
| 1. |
Remove the engine cover. Refer to

Remove the battery tray. Refer to

| 3. |
Drain the coolant fluid system. Refer to
Cooling System Draining and Filling (LDK/A20NHT)

| 4. |
Remove the transfer case. Refer to
Transfer Case Assembly Replacement

Remove the starter motor. Refer to
Starter Replacement (2.0L Diesel)

| 6. |
Remove the ground cable (1), the clip to wiring harness and fastener to coolant pipe bracket (2).
|
|
| 7. |
Remove the fasteners (3) to the converter.
|
|
| 8. |
Lower the vehicle.
|
|
| 9. |
Remove the catalytic converter front heat shield (1).
|
|
| 10. |
Remove the transmission heat shield (1).
|
|
| 11. |
Remove the turbo pressure hose (1) from the turbo.
|
|
| 12. |
Remove the shift lever cable from the selector on the transmission. Refer to
Range Selector Lever Cable Replacement
.
|
|
| 13. |
Remove the connector (1) from the transmission control module.
|
|
| 14. |
Remove the coolant fluid pipe (1) from the thermostat housing.
|
|
| 15. |
Remove the upper transmission fasteners (1) using the
special socket
DT-32025063.
|
|
| 16. |
Support the engine with
engine bridge
EN-47649 and
retainer
EN-47650.
|
|
| 17. |
Raise the vehicle.
|
|
| 18. |
Remove the transmission front mount. Refer to
Transmission Front Mount Replacement
.
|
|
| 19. |
Drain the transmission fluid. Refer to
Transmission Fluid Level and Condition Check
.
|
|
| 20. |
Remove the oil cooler hose connection (1) from the transmission.
|
|
| 21. |
Pull out the left driveshaft from the transmission. Refer to
Front Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement - Left Side (GNA)
Front Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement - Left Side (GNB)
.

| 22. |
Lower the vehicle.
|
|
| 23. |
Remove the fasteners to the transmission mount left side. Refer to
Transmission Mount Replacement - Left Side
.
|
|
| 24. |
Lower the engine enough to access the transmission.
|
|
| 25. |
Raise the vehicle.
|
|
| 26. |
Place the
transmission fixture
DT-47648 on
basic frame
CH-49647 and attach to the transmission in the holes where the front and rear brackets are mounted.
|
|
| 27. |
Remove lower transmission fasteners (1).
|
|
| 28. |
Remove lower transmission fasteners (1).
|
|
| 29. |
Separate the transmission from the engine.
|
|
| 30. |
Secure the torque converter against falling, attach the
support
DT-6388.
|
|
| 31. |
Remove the transmission from the
fixture
DT-47648.
|
|
| Installation Procedure |
| 1. |
Position the transmission at the
fixture
DT-47648.
|
|
| 2. |
Lubricate the centering pin on the converter and the two guiding sleeves.
|
|
| 3. |
Remove
DT-6388
holder and attach the transmission to the engine.
|
|
| 4. |
Refer to
Fastener Caution
.
Install the gearbox fasteners (1) and tighten to 60 Nm (44 lb ft) .

Install the gearbox fasteners (1) and tighten to
60 Nm (44 lb ft)
.
|
|
| 6. |
Remove the
transmission fixture
DT-47648 and
basic frame
CH-49647.
|
|
| 7. |
Lower the vehicle.
|
|
| 8. |
Raise the engine to the correct level with the
engine bridge
EN-47649.
|
|
| 9. |
Install the fasteners to the transmission mount left side. Refer to
Transmission Mount Replacement - Left Side
.
|
|
| 10. |
Remove
engine bridge
EN-47649 and
retainer
EN-47650.
|
|
| 11. |
Fit upper transmission fasteners (1), using the
special socket
DT-32025063 and tighten to
60 Nm (44 lb ft)
.
|
|
| 12. |
Fit the shift lever cable from the selector on the transmission. Refer to
Range Selector Lever Cable Replacement
.
|
|
| 13. |
Fit the connector to the transmission control module.
|
|
| 14. |
Fit the coolant fluid pipe to the thermostat housing (1) and install a NEW O-ring.
|
|
| 15. |
Fit the turbo pressure hose (1) to the turbo.
|
|
| 16. |
Fit the transmission heat shield (1).
|
|
| 17. |
Fit the catalytic converter front heat shield (1).
|
|
| 18. |
Raise the vehicle.
|
|
| 19. |
Fit the oil cooler hose connection (1) to the transmission and tighten to
7 Nm (62 lb in)
.
|
|
| 20. |
Fit the fastener (3) to the converter. Refer to
Torque Converter Replacement
. Apply locking agent on the bolts and tighten to
60 Nm (44 lb ft)
.
|
|
| 21. |
Fit the ground cable (1) and the clip to wiring harness and fastener to coolant pipe bracket (2).
|
|
| 22. |
Fit the starter motor. Refer to
Starter Replacement (2.0L Diesel)

Fit the transmission front mount. Refer to

Fit the
CH- 49290
centring fixture to check alignment.
|
|
| 27. |
Lower the vehicle.
|
|
| 28. |
Fill the coolant fluid system. Refer to
Cooling System Draining and Filling (LDK/A20NHT)

Cooling System Draining and Filling (LAU/A28NER)

Fit the battery tray. Refer to

Transmission Adaptive Functions
and a SPS programming.
