Front Wheel Drive Shaft Seal Replacement - Left Side

Warning

To avoid any vehicle damage, serious personal injury or death when major components are removed from the vehicle and the vehicle is supported by a hoist, support the vehicle with jack stands at the opposite end from which the components are being removed and strap the vehicle to the hoist.


Refer to Safety Glasses Warning .


Preliminary Procedure

1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .

2. Remove the engine shield. Refer to Engine Shield Replacement .

3. Remove the front wheel drive shaft from the transmission. Refer to Front Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement - Left Side (GNA) Front Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement - Left Side (GNB) .

4. Place a drain pan underneath to collect transmission fluid.

Front Wheel Drive Shaft Seal


Procedure

1. Remove drive axle shaft seal ring with hammer DT-586 and hook DT-7004.

2. Coat new axle shaft seal ring with transmission fluid.

3. Install the drive axle shaft seal ring flush into transmission with installer DT-519.

4. Check transmission fluid level. Refer to Transmission Fluid Replacement .
